FIDM Exhibit of 2005

Does anyone have any interest in going to FIDM's 14th Annual Art of Motion Picture Costume Design? It's basically a collection of costumes from a whole bunch of movies that came out last year (as well as December 2004), and it looks pretty interesting. The films featured in the showcase are listed under the cut.

Aeon Flux
The Aviator
Batman Begins
Bewitched
Brokeback Mountain
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
Cinderella Man
Corpse Bride
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Kingdom of Heaven
King Kong
The Legend of Zorro
Memoirs of a Geisha
Monster in Law
Mr. and Mrs. Smith
Mrs. Henderson Presents
The New World
Pride and Prejudice
The Producers: The Movie Musical
Serenity
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith
Walk the Line

If you want to go, here's the info you'll need to know:

Open to The Public: February 6 through April 29, 2006 (Closed April 14 - 16)

Gallery Hours: Monday through Thursday, 10:00am until 6:00pm, Friday through Saturday, 10:00am until 4:00pm

It's located in the same place the Star Wars exhibit was, and it doesn't seem like you can buy tickets online, so I'd have to call in and order some if we got a group together. I know we have spring break and the April dates are right before AP testing, but I was thinking we could go sometime towards the beginning/middle of March. I don't know. I guess we'll see what happens.

And just to let people know, if you didn't get to see Fusion 2006 you didn't miss out on too much. Of course we all loved Mel's dances, but besides those, there wasn't anything really spectacular. Usually there's at least one or two dances that are just amazingly good, but nothing really stood out this year. Well, except perhaps the rendition of Tina Turner's "Proud Mary," but we all were watching the singers instead of the dancers, so I guess that doesn't really count. And they had this side band sing the Beatles "Blackbird" which I thought was pretty good as well. I think the highlight of the night was Joanne getting surprised by two boys who wore hotpants in one of the dances. And nothing else (except ballet shoes). That's right. Shiny, silvery/purple hotpants. I wasn't sure whether to be turned on or mortified.

You have to admit that though the guys are either gay or just complete idiots, some of them do have really nice bodies. ;P

I seriously wouldn't put it past them. They spend the majority of APA trying to rape each-other with foreign objects and beating the crap out of themselves and everyone around them. It's rather amusing, unless you get caught in the crossfire.

Then it's just scarring.

Haha, I saw this on the news and I was like, "I wonder how long until Kaitlyn says she's going?"

Anyway, I want to go. 'Cause I'm dying to see the costumes from Monster in Law. :-p

But no, I really do want to go.

Thanks for the advertising!

Thanks for advertising FIDM's Museum and Galleries. I really appreciate it. It's great to read about people who are enthusiastic enough to try and get a group together to come and visit the campus. It's encouraging to me and all of FIDM as well. Just for your information though, tickets are free. I know we sold tickets for our Star Wars Gallery, but this is free. Hopefully you'll get a group together soon. Good Luck!

Many thanks,
